In the field of market research, the entire process must be built on two fundamental questions:

  • What’s happening (descriptive research)?
  • Why are those things happening (exploratory research)?

A well designed descriptive research will always generate the “Why?” in the exploratory action.

Building any type of market survey is based on a research architecture structured around these two questions and a mix of methods and instruments.

The variables and collected data are constantly passed through a descriptive and exploratory filter to outline the correlations and causalities which characterize them.

The entire research process represents an exchange of information between the researcher, the environment being researched and the beneficiary of the research. These three players shape the questions, limits and explanations the market survey must reach and identify.

The (re)planning and control of activities is the red thread of market research, constantly guiding the project towards success or failure.
